Over the years, as we watched studio communities develop, it‘s become really clear that the healthiest studio owners often have a partner. If you go solo, you do get the luxury of making decisions without having to ‘check in’ with anybody. On the flip side, the opportunity of ‘checking in’ or receiving feedback/a different perspective might be the difference between making a smart, calculated decision and one that you feel the consequences of for some time. Having the ability to split up tasks, bounce ideas off of one another and just having another person available for emotional support is so incredibly valuable.
It is up to each individual to decide whether they want to partner with somebody, but we do expect that you take this decision seriously and give it some honest thought. Further to that, if you do decide to go solo, be prepared to discuss why and how you plan to juggle it all during the application process.
